‘No Strings Attached’ is a film that starts off with a girl and a guy who agrees to have sex but without letting their emotions get in the way. This is what most from the new generation says as ‘friends with benefits’. This is a romantic comedy film starring Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman for the lead and director Ivan Reitman who also directed the 2006 film ‘My Super Ex-Girlfriend’.
This film offers a totally different touch that is refreshing to this genre of a film. It poses a challenge to the usual stereotypes of female and male with regards to the paranoia in relationships and for those who questions whether it is really possible to sustain a relationship that is purely physical and without emotion.
You can be sure that this would be one of the funniest movies for the new year of 2011. This is one sexual comedy that both Kutcher and Portman were able to portray well with complete wit and tease without losing that personal touch that would pinch your heart along the way. It can keep you laughing the whole time. They are joined by an impressive supporting cast as well just like Kevin Kline as the pot smoking father of Kutcher who dates his son’s ex girlfriend even at the young age of 23.
It was rated R for lots of foul words and sexual content but it is definitely worth seeing especially for the young adults of today. This can be a refreshing movie to watch with Natalie Portman in it after seeing her deep to the core drama in the ‘Black Swan’.
